On 24–25 September 2026, our IB students organized the Gen20 Student Economic Model Conference at VŠEM in Bratislava.

Our economics teacher, Mr Reiling, opened the second edition of the conference, introduced participants to the world of economics, and provided an overview of the history and functioning of the G20 (Group of Twenty), whose meetings inspired the creation of the Gen20 conference.

For two days, our students became delegates representing selected G20 countries. They experienced first-hand what it means to represent their country's interests, engage in professional discussions, present convincing arguments, negotiate, and work together to find solutions to current economic challenges.

During the individual sessions, the delegates addressed issues related to healthcare, the digital environment, international trade, and public finance. Their intensive negotiations resulted in five joint communiqués, in which they presented their own proposals and solutions. Among other achievements, they developed a system for managing national debt and, through their decisions, even averted a simulated global crisis.

At the end of the conference, we presented awards to students who demonstrated outstanding skills in persuasive argumentation, effective negotiation, and representing their assigned country. Congratulations to all the award winners!
